Sharon provides a variety of directorship and related fiduciary services to BVI entities. As a qualified lawyer, she also acts as general counsel for Little Bay Consulting, as well as providing commissioner for oaths and notary services. Sharon has considerable experience in corporate and insolvency law. She regularly acts as voluntary liquidator of BVI entities and consults with a variety of clients on complex cross border restructurings and refinancings. Sharon is particularly interested in DeFi structures and is regularly approached to act as a director of BVI DeFi companies, distressed entities, funds and holding companies.
Sharon trained as a lawyer in Scotland before moving to London in 2007 to join Dundas & Wilson, where she advised clients on restructurings and insolvencies in a wide range of sectors. Sharon joined Carey Olsen in the BVI in 2014, where she developed a diverse practice, advising on finance, corporate, insolvency and restructuring transactions whilst also working closely with the corporate services team at CO Services. At Carey Olsen, Sharon gained extensive experience advising on real estate finance, start-ups in emerging markets and security enforcement options and regularly acted for directors, lenders, insolvency practitioners, distressed companies, shareholders, investors and trust companies. She is recognised as one of the top practitioners in the BVI who fully understands corporate and finance law coupled with the nuances of insolvency law. This in turn means she is in high demand to act as director of various BVI structures, who appreciate the breadth of knowledge and experience she provides on BVI matters.
STATUS, MEMBERSHIPS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Sharon is a permanent BVI resident and an FSC Approved Director, BVI Notary Public, BVI Commissioner of Oaths, Chairperson of the Recovery & Insolvency Specialist Association in the BVI and former secretary of the BVI Bar Association. Sharon was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Scotland in 2007, as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England in 2009 and as a Solicitor of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court of the British Virgin Islands in 2014. She holds a BSc Hons (Medical Microbiology), an LLB (Law) and Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Edinburgh. Sharon was recognised in the Legal 500, Chambers & Partners and IFLR in 2020 and in the Citywealth IFC Power Women Commendations 2017 to 2019.

Helen is a BVI citizen with extensive experience as a director having worked in the BVI financial services industry since 2002 in a wide range of sectors, including insurance, fund administration, corporate services, liquidations, compliance and accounting. She has provided independent director services to regulated and non-regulated entities since 2012 including licensed investment managers, international groups and de-fi and crypto entites. Particular areas of strength she offers to a board include financial oversight, compliance and regulatory expertise.
Helen qualified with Deloitte in London as a Chartered Accountant and moved to the BVI in 2002, where she has worked as an auditor with KPMG. She has held positions as a fund administrator, Managing Director of an Insurance Manager, Head of Finance and Compliance Officer of BVI regulated companies and as a non-executive director at a major BVI trust company. She has extensive experience dealing with applications and ongoing maintenance, accounting and compliance for FSC regulated entities, including insurance companies and mutual funds in the BVI and the equivalent in competitor jurisdictions. Helen also provides a variety of accounting support and compliance services as well as acting as a voluntary liquidator and providing economic substance advice.

Helen is a BVI citizen. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute. The is also a member of the Association of Fraud Examiners. She is an FSC Approved Director, Senior Officer, Compliance Officer and Licensed Insolvency Practitioner. She is Chairman of the BVI Association of Insurance Managers and a member of the Recovery & Insolvency Specialist Association in the BVI. Helen is also member of FSC advisory councils. She speaks fluent French and holds a BA Hons (Spanish, German and Czech).
